Jaldapara National Park Safari Booking
Spread over 216 sq. km at an altitude of 61 m, Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary in West Bengal is a mosaic of grasslands, riverine forests, and sandy riverbanks, drained by rivers like Torsha, Malangi, Hollong, and Buri Torsa. Originally declared a sanctuary in 1941, it was created to protect the endangered Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros.

Wildlife
Mammals: Apart from rhinos, the forest shelters elephants, Royal Bengal tigers, leopards, bison, sambar, hog deer, barking deer, wild pigs, and rare species like the hispid hare and hog-badger.
Birds: Home to 240+ bird species, including the endangered Bengal Florican, Great Pied Hornbill, Pallas’s Fishing Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, owls, nightjars, parakeets, drongos, and peafowls. Winter brings migratory species like Brahminy ducks, whistling teals, and goosanders.
