Sunderbans 3 Night 4 Days Itinerary
Sundarban – Kolkata Day 1
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel/railway/airport Kolkata as per your convenience and drive straight to Gathkhali jetty, which is about 125 kms. On the way, we will pass through beautiful countryside’s, rural bazaar with stopovers at Local Tea shop and Fishermen’s’ villages.
On arrival in Gathkhali, we will transfer you and your luggage to our motorized boat. Thereafter, our local guide cum naturalist will brief you about the rest of the day tour over tea/coffee/welcome drink followed by two hours stunning journey through river Hogol, Gomor, Durgaduani and Gumdi or you can stopover at Gosaba, one of the earliest human settlements of Sunderbans to visit the house of Sir Danniel Hamilton, a Scottish banker who initiated the first co-operative movement of India here.
On arrival, check in at your Resort. Enjoy hot lunch followed by 3 hours birding and game cruise to Sudhanyakhali watch tower through canals and creeks. In the evening, return back to your Jungle resort for dinner and an overnight stay.
Sunderbans Day 2
After morning tea and breakfast, we will leave for a full day game cruise and birding tour to Dobanki watch tower provided the weather conditions are suitable. Your lunch will be served on board. In the evening, return back to your jungle resort to experience the local Rural theatre (Bonobibi Yatra) / Tusu Dance performed by the villagers.The theatre tells interesting story about the Forest God and Goddess, Tiger Lord, fishermen and honey collectors with lot of dances and songs. Enjoy dinner and a night stay at the hotel.
Sunderbans Day 3
Today after morning tea and breakfast, we will proceed for birding and game cruise to Burirdabri watch tower to enjoy a small canopy walk. Afternoon is free for leisure. An overnight stay at the hotel.
Sunderbans Day 4
After morning tea followed by the breakfast, we will leave for guided village walk in which participants are encouraged to have a close interaction with the local villagers in order to encounter about their livelihood. Cuntry boat ride optional. In the afternoon, return back to your jungle resort for lunch and thereafter, proceed to Godhkhali. On arrival at Godhkhali, our representative will transfer you back to Kolkata by car.

Sundarbans Watch Towers Zones By Forest Department
Sajnekhali Watch Tower: –
The headquarters of the Forest Department also serves as the administrative hub for the Sundarban Tiger Reserve, where visitors must obtain permission for entry. Within the Sajnekhali Watch Tower complex, you can find the Mangrove Interpretation Centre, a Bono Bibi Temple, and a Crocodile Park. Adjacent to the watchtower is a freshwater pond frequented by various bird and animal species. To facilitate wildlife observation, observation lines have been created, enabling visitors to observe wildlife from a safe distance. Bird enthusiasts can spot seven vibrant Kingfisher species, White Bellied Sea Eagles, Plovers, Lapwings, Curfews, Whimbrels, and Sandpipers.
Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower:
The Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower stands out as a prime location for observing wildlife. It features a serene freshwater pond thoughtfully created by the forest department, attracting a variety of animals that gather to quench their thirst. Adjacent to the pond, there are open stretches of land devoid of dense vegetation. Cleared observation pathways enable visitors to witness wildlife from a safe distance. This remarkable spot offers glimpses of Axis deers, Wild Boars, Crocodiles, and even the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.
Dobanki/Dobanke Watch Tower:
The Dobanki Watch Tower features a captivating Canopy Walk, providing a distinctive perspective for wildlife observation. Stretching approximately half a kilometer in length and situated at an elevation of around 20 feet above the ground, it offers a remarkable bird’s-eye view. Adjacent to this structure, there is a serene freshwater pond that attracts a diverse range of bird and animal species. Specially designated observation points have been created, allowing visitors to observe wildlife from a safe distance. Commonly spotted creatures include spotted deer, Brahminy Kites, and, on occasion, majestic tigers.
Jharkhali Watch Tower:
Jharkhali Watch Tower has a tiger rehabilitation centre and a butterfly park.
Netidopani/Netidhopani Watch Tower:
The Netidhopani Watch Tower provides a vantage point from which visitors can admire the remnants of a 400-year-old Shiva Temple. According to local legend, King Pratapaditya constructed a protective road on the far right edge of the forest to safeguard the coastal region from Mughal incursions, which is now buried beneath the ground. In close proximity, there is a freshwater pond where various animals gather to quench their thirst. Additionally, strategic clearings have been created, enabling tourists to observe wildlife from a distance.
Burirdabri Watch Tower:
Burirdabri is celebrated for its distinctive watchtower, a meandering mud walk, and a mangrove cage trail leading to the Raimongal Watch Tower. This unique experience allows visitors to closely observe the terrestrial fauna, including telescopic snails, a diverse range of crabs, and various mollusks during the mud walk. The journey reaches its zenith at a well-crafted wooden watchtower, providing captivating vistas of the magnificent Bangladesh Sundarbans.
