Gangasagar & Kolkata Local Tour
The duration of your Kolkata tour depends on your interests and how much time you have available. Here are a few suggestions:
Short Visit (1-2 Days): If you have limited time, you can focus on the central part of Kolkata. A one-day tour can cover attractions like Victoria Memorial, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Princep Ghat. For a two-day visit, you can explore more leisurely and include other points of interest.
Full Sightseeing Tour (2-3 Days): To explore Kolkata more comprehensively, plan for a 2-3 day trip. This itinerary can include Princep Ghat, Rabindra Nath Tagore House, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Victoria Memorial Hall, Dakhineshwar Kali Temple, and Belur Math. You can also drive past landmarks like the General Post Office, Shaheed Minar, Eden Gardens, Howrah Station, Writers’ Building, Maidan, Town Hall, Fort William, and cross the Howrah Bridge and Vidyasagar Bridge.
Extended Visit (4-5 Days or More): If you have more time, you can spend 4-5 days exploring Kolkata and its surroundings. This allows for a comprehensive city tour and the option to venture out to places like Sundarbans National Park, Digha, or Mandarmani for a beach experience.
Kolkata with Kids: If you’re traveling with children, consider spending extra time to enjoy kid-friendly attractions such as Science City, Zoological Park, Nicco Water Park, Eco Park & Wax Museum, Birla Planetarium, Birla Science Museum, Millennium Park, Snow Park, Howrah Rail Museum, Indian Museum, and the Academy of Fine Arts. A tram ride or a cruise on the River Ganges can also be exciting for kids.
Culinary Exploration: Don’t forget to indulge in Kolkata’s culinary delights. Bengali cuisine, known for its curries and seafood, is a must-try. Savor iconic sweets like “roshogolla” that give Kolkata its culinary identity.
