Kaziranga National Park has achieved a historic milestone by recording its highest-ever number of foreign visitors. During the first three months of the 2025–26 tourism season, more than 146,000 tourists visited the park, including around 6,700 international travelers—over three times the foreign tourist arrivals recorded just two years ago.
This remarkable growth reflects the success of improved wildlife conservation, enhanced safari experiences, and government initiatives promoting Kaziranga as a world-class wildlife destination. The park’s strong anti-poaching measures, especially for the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, have strengthened its reputation as a safe and sustainable tourism destination.
The tourism boom is also benefiting local communities, with increased demand for hotels, resorts, transport services, and safari guides. Additionally, the high-profile visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi helped bring global attention to Kaziranga and Assam’s rich wildlife heritage.
Kaziranga’s record-breaking season highlights how effective conservation, responsible tourism, and international promotion can work together to create a globally recognized wildlife destination.
