To reach Gangasagar Island, visitors cross the Hooghly River via Harwood Point (Kakdwip Lot No. 8) or Namkhana Ferry Point. Ferries operate throughout the day, with a journey time of 45 minutes to 1 hour. After the ferry, private cars, buses, or local transport are used to reach Gangasagar. Note that government ferry services may pause for up to 6 hours during low tide, twice daily, so it’s essential to confirm timings with local operators, especially during festivals or peak times.

For Gangasagar one-day tours, we operate via LOT 8, Kakdwip. You can purchase a government vessel ticket for just Rs. 20 and safely reach Kachuberia. If you travel via Benubon, Namkhana, your travel time will increase significantly. Moreover, it is a very risky route, as it is located at the mouth of the Bay of Bengal, where the sea remains rough most of the time. There is a high possibility of boats capsizing, and many tourists fall sick during the journey. There are no government vessels operating on that route. Therefore, ensure your own safety and your family’s safety by choosing a secure and pleasant Gangasagar tour.
