How to Reach Gir National Park

Gir National Park, home to the rare Asiatic lions, is open to tourists from 16th October to 15th June each year. Here’s how you can reach:

From Somnath: Gir is around 50 km from Somnath and takes about 1 hour by road. Regular GSRTC and private buses connect the two destinations directly.

Via Junagadh: The nearest major railway station is Junagadh, well-connected to Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and other cities. From Junagadh, it’s about 1.5 hours by road to Sasan Gir.

From Rajkot: Rajkot is about 105 km from Junagadh. Take a bus or taxi to Junagadh (2.5–3 hours), then either a bus (from gate 11/12) or taxi to Sasan Gir (1.5 hours).
