One-Day Sundarbans Tour Itinerary from Kolkata
5:00 AM: Depart from Kolkata in a comfortable AC Car/Van. Enjoy a scenic three-and-a-half-hour drive to Godkhali, the last road point in Mainland India.
8:30 AM: Board the boat, where our friendly crew welcomes you with refreshing drinks. Breakfast and tea will be served as you embark on your cruise to Sajnekhali. After obtaining the necessary Entry Permission and Guide, venture into the expansive Sundarbans forest, one of the world’s largest mangrove ecosystems, teeming with diverse flora and fauna.
During the cruise, explore two iconic watch towers, Sajnekhali and Sudhanyakhali. The Sajnekhali Watch Tower is renowned as the main entry point to the national park, featuring attractions such as the Bono Bini Temple, Mangrove Interpretation Center, and the turtle project. Bird enthusiasts can spot various avifauna species, including Pelicans, Kingfishers, White-Bellied Sea Eagles, and more.
The Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower offers excellent chances of sighting tigers, along with other wildlife such as deer, wild boars, and crocodiles. A sweet water pond nearby attracts animals for a drink, providing a unique viewing opportunity. Cruise through small channels and creeks to spot diverse wildlife, including spotted deer, wild boars, civet cats, monitor lizards, crocodiles, dolphins, and, if lucky, tigers. Lunch will be served upon your return to the resort at 3:00 PM, and the boats are equipped with clean western and Indian style toilets.
4:00 PM: Return to Godkhali, hop back into the car, and commence the journey back to Kolkata.
8:00 PM: Arrive back in Kolkata. Drop-off available at Park Street/Dharamtala, with additional options for drop-off at Hotel/Home/Airport/Station (additional charges apply). Thus concludes our captivating one-day trip to the Sundarbans.
